A man’s body has been found behind a retail park in Wirral.
Merseyside Police say the body was found in a section of the Rock Retail Park at about 4.30pm yesterday afternoon (August 26).
The man was pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics, but he is yet to be formally identified.
In a statement, a spokesperson for Merseyside Police said: "We can confirm a man’s body has been found in a section of the Rock Retail Park in Birkenhead near Wickes this afternoon (Saturday 26 August).
"At around 4.30pm police patrols found the body of a man whilst conducting a search in the area.
"A cordon was put in place at the retail park whilst police continued their enquiries.
"Paramedics attended and he was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.
"The cordon has now been removed and a post-mortem examination will take place to establish the cause of death.
"At this time the death is being treated as unexplained and formal identification is still to take place."
