Police are appealing for witnesses after a man was stabbed in Toxteth

Merseyside Police detectives are appealing for witnesses after a man was assaulted in Miles Street, Toxteth, last night, Thursday 22 September. At about 7.50pm, Police were called to reports that a man had been stabbed in Miles street, Toxteth. Police and ambulance service attended the location and found a man suffering from lacerations to his head. He was taken to hospital where his injuries are believed to be not life-threatening. CCTV and forensic enquiries are on-going this morning. Detective Sergeant Martha Allbutt from Liverpool CID said: “This is a serious assault that could easily have resulted in life threatening injuries for the victim. “This initially appears to be a targeted attack with a bladed weapon and we would like to speak to anyone who was in or around the Miles Street area last night at about 8pm.” Anyone with information is asked to call Liverpool CID, on 0151 777 4065, call 101, or Crimestoppers, anonymously on 0800 555 111.
