Police are appealing for witnesses after a man was stabbed in Toxteth

Merseyside Police detectives are appealing for witnesses after a man was assaulted in Miles Street, Toxteth, last night, Thursday 22 September. At about 7.50pm, Police were called to reports that a man had been stabbed in Miles street, Toxteth. Police and ambulance service attended the location and found a man suffering from lacerations to his head. He was taken to hospital where his injuries are believed to be not life-threatening. CCTV and forensic enquiries are on-going this morning. Detective Sergeant Martha Allbutt from Liverpool CID said: ā€œThis is a serious assault that could easily have resulted in life threatening injuries for the victim. ā€œThis initially appears to be a targeted attack with a bladed weapon and we would like to speak to anyone who was in or around the Miles Street area last night at about 8pm.ā€ Anyone with information is asked to call Liverpool CID, on 0151 777 4065, call 101, or Crimestoppers, anonymously on 0800 555 111.
