Man stabbed as police probe 'robbery' reports

A 20 year old's been stabbed as police investigate reports of a robbery in Calderstones.

Police are investigating after a 20 year old was stabbed in Calderstones in the early hours of this morning.

They were called to the junction of Green Lane and Beech Lane at around 1.45am, after reports of a man having been stabbed in Beech lane.

A property on nearby Harthill Road has also been cordoned off and that stretch of road is closed. At this stage of the investigation, Detectives are examining a number of lines of enquiry including the possibility of a robbery. Ambulance attended and the man has been taken to hospital, where his condition is described as stable and is not thought to be life threatening. The scene has been cordoned off and forensic enquiries, house to house enquiries are underway and CCTV from the area is being sought.
