A man's recovering after a stabbing in Bootle on Thursday evening.

A man's recovering in hospital after being stabbed multiple times in Bootle.

Police were called to Mildmay Road at around 5.10pm on Thursday to reports of an assault. It is thought two men, who were in possession of knives, assaulted a man in his 20s in the road. The man is believed to have suffered a number of knife wounds but his condition is not thought to be life threatening. The area was cordoned off while officers examined the scene and witnesses are being sought. CCTV from the area will be examined and house to house enquiries carried out.
