Man seriously injured in Liverpool city centre assault
He suffered serious head injuries in the incident
A man has been left with a serious head injury after an assault in Liverpool City Centre.
It happened in the early hours of yesterday (06/05) on Bold Street. It is thought the victim was with his friend when he was assaulted.
A 25 year old woman from London has been arrested nearby, and is currently being questioned by officers.
Police now want anyone who saw anything to come forward.
In a statement, Merseyside Police said: "A 25-year-old woman has been arrested following a serious assault in Liverpool City Centre in the early hours of this morning, Saturday, 6 May.
"Just after 4.15am, emergency services were called to Bold Street to reports that a man was unconscious on the floor on Bold Street after being assaulted by two men and a woman near to Subway.
"Officers attended at the scene along with paramedics and the 22-year-old man, who comes from Wirral, was taken to hospital where he is being treated a serious head injury. His condition is currently described serious but stable.
"The woman, who comes from London, was arrested nearby and she has been taken to a police station where she will be questioned by detectives."
