A man's admitted drugs supply offences

A seemingly ordinary two bedroomed house in Norris Green held a secret - a locked room containing freezers full of drugs.
It also hid wads of bank notes worth a total £58,600, Liverpool Crown Court heard today. (Tue)
Police found two men inside the property in Hazelslack Road and they were arrested, though one of them has since fled to Amsterdam.
In the dock was his companion Wozciech Lewandowski, of Windsor Road, Tuebrook, who admitted two charges of possessing cannabis and clopedrone, known as CMC.
Alaric Walmsley, prosecuting, said that police raided the house on August 5, 2021 and as well as drugs and drug dealing paraphrenalia lying around the house they also found the locked bedoom, which officers had to force their way into.
They found freezers containing large amounts of drugs and some in labelled jars but the value and weight was not known. The premises were being used as a storage unit, he said.
“The defendant did not have a key for the room though his fingerprint was found on a vacuum sealed package of cannabis,” said Mr Walmsley.
In his basis of plea 25-year-old Lewandowski said that he had not known there was money behind the locked door and did not know the quantity of drugs.
Charles Lander, defending, said that the defendant, who has no previous convictions, admitted using cannabis and said that the package on which his fingerprints were found had also been handled by other people.
Lewandowski had been living at the property for two weeks rent free on condition he did not let anyone else in apart from the other man called Patrick.
Judge Stuart Driver, KC, said, “It is an unusual case and the prosecution accept your basis of plea which amounts to you guarding the drugs by not permitting anyone to enter the premises.”
He imposed a twelve month community order and ordered him to carry out ten days rehabilitation activities.
