Man knocked unconscious during 'unprovoked' attack in Liverpool

A 32-year-old man was left unconscious and with a serious head injury after being attacked outside Smokie Mo's bar in Liverpool

Merseyside Police is appealing for information following the assault of a man on Ranelagh Street last night, Sunday 28 February. At around 10.50pm last night (Sunday 28 February), a 32-year-old man was attacked outside Smokey Mo's on Ranelagh Street. It’s thought he was assaulted by three men, leaving him unconscious and with a serious head injury.

The victim was taken to Fazakerley Hospital where his condition is being assessed. A woman witness also sustained minor injuries to her face and head. Detectives remain at the scene carrying out further enquiries including CCTV and forensics. Liverpool CID Detective Chief Inspector Phil Mahon said: "We are appealing for anyone who may have witnessed this attack to come forward and speak with police. "This was a violent and unprovoked attack by a group of men, which has left the victim with serious head injuries, and we are determined to bring those responsible for this assault to justice."
