Man in serious condition after shooting in Kirkby
A man's in a serious condition in hospital after a shooting in Kirkby in the early hours of this morning.
Armed police were called to Westhead Walk around 1.40am following reports a man was shot outside a property.
A man in his 30s was found with injuries to his legs and buttocks.
His current condition is described as serious but stable.
Officers will remain in the area this morning to carry out searches, house-to-house, CCTV and forensic enquiries are underway.
Detective Inspector James Belmar said: “These are the very early stages of our investigation but I want to appeal to anyone in the area who saw or heard anything to speak to us, in whichever way you choose and at the earliest opportunity."

“If you happened to have been in the Westhead Walk area around 1.40am and seen the incident itself or anybody acting suspiciously in the area, or have home CCTV or dashcam footage, please check as it could be vital to our investigation."
