Man in hospital after fight breaks out in Tuebrook
Merseyside Police say the incident started in the early hours of this morning (11 February)
A man is in hospital after a fight broke out at a café in the early hours of this morning (February 11) in North East Liverpool.
Officers say the man was assaulted on Scorton Street at about 3.45am, with the fight reportedly breaking out amongst a number of men in a café on Rocky Lane.
Reports from those in the area said the man has been punched and kicked outside and had to receive treatment to a laceration to his head.
His condition is described as stable, whilst investigations are underway to work out the circumstances of the incident.
Police say forensic examinations of the scene have been completed.
Officers have conducted enquiries at neighbouring businesses and are continuing to explore CCTV opportunities in the area.
Detective Inspector Jemma Berry said: “This was a nasty incident which began in a café on Rocky Lane and continued outside onto Scorton Street.
“Such violence has no place on the streets of Tuebrook or anywhere in Merseyside.
“While the incident occurred at 3.45am, and the street would have been quiet, we are keen to speak to anyone who may have witnessed the incident or may have dashcam capturing any part of it.
