Man in critical condition after collision in Bootle

A man's in a critical condition after a collision in Bootle this morning.

Officers were called to Southport Road near it’s junction with Aintree Road at 6.15am to reports a car had been in collision with a 45-year-old male pedestrian.

Emergency Services attended and the male has been taken to hospital for treatment to a head injury. His condition is described as critical.

The road has since reopened, but police are appealing for witnesses to get in touch on 101.
