Man Hurt In City Centre Stabbing

A man is in a serious but stable condition following an incident inside Santa Chupitos

A man has been hurt in a stabbing inside Santa Chupitos on Slater Street.

It happened in the early hours of Sunday.

The 30 year old victim is currently in a serious but stable condition in hospital.

"Merseyside Police is committed to combatting knife crime and we will continue to work with our partners to get knives off our streets. "

An investigation is underway and CCTV and forensic enquiries are being carried out.

Detective Chief Inspector Mark Kameen said: “I would appeal to anyone who was in and around Slater Street in the early hours of this morning and has any information which could assist with the investigation to contact us.

“I also want to reiterate the message about the dangers of carrying knives and the consequences for the people who are found to be carrying them. Merseyside Police is committed to combatting knife crime and we will continue to work with our partners to get knives off our streets.

"I would ask anyone who has any information in relation to this incident to contact police so we can find those responsible and bring them to justice.”
