Man dies and teenager critical after incident on Liverpool building site

It's reported the men fell from a height on Chapel Street

Police have now confirmed 53-year-old man died at the scene of an industrial incident in Liverpool City Centre.

It happened at a building site on Chapel Street yesterday afternoon (Wednesday 19 May).

The man’s next of kin have been informed and are being supported by specially trained officers

The second man, aged 18, was taken to hospital where he remains in a critical condition.

Emergency services were called to a site around 3.30pm yesterday to reports that the two men had been found seriously injured after falling.

It's understood a construction lift, which the men were on, fell to the ground.

An investigation is being carried out by detectives and the Health and Safety Executive and police remain at the scene while enquiries are carried out.
