Man Dies After Being Hit By Train
Man struck by train in Formby this morning
A man has died after being hit by a train in Formby this morning.
The accident happened between Freshfield and Ainsdale at around 9.20 this morning.
A spokesman for British Transport Police said: "Our Officers were called to an area near Freshfield at 9.20am on Thursday 21st January following reports of a person being hit by a train.
Colleagues from Merseyside Police and the North West Ambulance Service also attended but a person was pronounced dead at the scene.
The death is not being treated as suspicious and officer are now working to identify the person and inform their family. A file will be prepared for the coroner."
