Man dies after collision in Heswall

A man has died following a collision on Pensby Road in Heswall on Wednesday morning, Merseyside police can confirm.

Emergency services were called to Pensby Road at around 8.15am on Wednesday 21st after receiving a report that a car had been in collision with a wall.

The driver, a man in his 80s who was the sole occupant of the silver Vauxhall car involved, was treated by paramedics at the scene. He was taken to Arrowe Park Hospital where he died a short time later. His next of kin has been notified. Pensby Road has been closed in both directions, from its junctions with Sparks Lane to its junction with Whalley Lane, to allow for the recovery of the vehicle and for examination of the road.
