Man dies after being hit by car in Liverpool

A man's died after he was hit by a car on the East Lancs Road in Norris Green.

It happened just before 5.10pm last night (Wednesday 10 November).

Police were called to a report that a silver Ford Focus car was in collision with a pedestrian near the junction with Stopgate Lane.

Emergency services attended and the pedestrian, a man believed to be in his 50s, was taken to hospital for his injuries where he sadly passed away.

Police say they are working to formally identify the man and inform his next of kin.

The driver of the car stopped at the scene and is assisting officers with their enquiries.

Inspector Rob Ross said:

“An investigation has been launched into this tragic incident and we are keen to speak to anyone with information.

“If you witnessed the collision, or were driving past at the time and have any dashcam footage, please get in touch as it may assist our enquiries.”
