Man charged over knife attack at David Lloyd gym in Speke

A 23-year-old man was left with cuts to his face after he was slashed with a blade inside the gym

A man has been charged after another man was left with cuts to his face following an apparent knife attack at a David Lloyd gym in Speke.

Police were called to the leisure centre off Speke Road at around 18:00BST on Thursday 29 August.

A 23-year-old man had been slashed across the face with a blade while inside the gym.

Detectives have now charged 22-year-old Elliot Ashton, of Lumley Street, Liverpool, with wounding with intent and possessing a knife blade/sharp pointed article in a public place.

He was remanded into custody to appear at Liverpool Crown Court on 30 September.
