A man has been charged with attempted murder over a stabbing at a block of flats in Toxteth on Saturday (09 November).

Police were called to Bedford Walk at around 16:30GMT, where a man in his 30s was found with multiple injuries.

He remains in a stable condition in hospital, and his injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.

Khalid Salisu, 29, of Bedford Walk, Liverpool, has been charged with attempted murder and remanded into custody ahead of an appearance at Wirral Adult Remand Court.

It is believed the two men are known to each other.

Detective Inspector Keith Swift said: “The use of knives to inflict serious harm in Merseyside will not be tolerated.

“Thankfully, the victim’s injuries in this incident are not more serious, but we know all too well that when knives are picked up and used in this way, the consequences can be catastrophic.

“Based on our initial enquires, we believe the victim and the suspect were known to each other, and our investigation into this incident is progressing well."
