Man released on bail following Kirkdale fatal dog attack

A 31-year-old man has been released on conditional bail after a fatal dog attack in a Kirkdale house.

The man was arrested on suspicion of owning a dangerously out of control dog,

Ann Dunn, a 65-year-old woman, has been formally named as the woman who was killed in the attack.

A post mortem examination is still yet to be carried out to establish the exact cause of death.

The incident occurred on Monday October 3rd inside a house on Kirkdale's St Brigid's Crescent.

Police were called at around 4.25pm by the ambulance service, who initially attended the scene.

The investigation remains ongoing.

Detective Inspector Gavin Mulcahy said: "We understand the shock this incident will cause in the local community and beyond.

"Our officers are at the scene carrying out further enquiries so if you have any information please let us know."
