Man arrested after teenage girl injured in Toxteth shooting

A 21-year-old man from Toxteth has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and possession of a firearm with intent to endanger life following a shooting on Upper Warwick Street, Toxteth, yesterday evening (Tuesday, 1 March).

Police have since confirmed a 15-year-old girl, who was injured and taken to hospital is now in a stable condition.

House-to-house inquiries have been carried out and Crime Scene Investigations have carried out forensic examinations at the scene. Officers will also be checking CCTV in a bid to establish the circumstances of the incident.

High visibility patrols have also been stepped up in the area to reassure the local community.

Merseyside Police are urging anyone who has information, witnessed the incident, or who may have dashcam footage to come forward.
