Man arrested after boy bitten by dog in Liverpool park
He's been taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries
A man has been arrested after a child was bitten by a dog in a park in Liverpool
It happened at around 3.25pm in Crown Street Park.
Emergency services attended and the boy was taken to hospital for non-life-threatening injuries.
Police arrested a 20-year-old man from Liverpool on suspicion of Section 3, Possessing a Dangerous Dog Out of Control. He was taken into custody where he will be questioned by police.
A dog was also seized by officers at the scene.
Officers remain at the scene while witness enquiries are carried out and anyone with further information is asked to contact police.
Chief Inspector Rob Ross said:
“We simply will not tolerate irresponsible dog ownership on Merseyside.
“While our officers were able to quickly make one arrest and seize a dog, our enquiries into this appalling incident, which left a child injured, continue.
“Our officers will remain in the Crown Street Park area this evening while enquiries are carried out and to provide reassurance to the local community.
