M62 closed in both directions because of 'police incident'

There are traffic problems on the roads today, after the M62 was closed overnight.

Merseyside Police closed the road between junction 5 for Huyton and junction 6 Tarbock Island at just after midnight, because of what they are calling a 'police incident'.

Traffic is backing up in both directions of the motorway, and the surrounding area is also busy as people look to detour.

We have approached both Highways England and Merseyside Police for an update.
