A murder investigation is underway after a Liverpool teenager was stabbed to death in Shrewsbury

16 year old Michael Warham was found with a stab wound in Wayford Close on Monday 1 August and was taken to hospital where he passed away on Thursday 4th August

In a statement Michael's family said:

"We are devastated at the loss of our beloved son and brother in such tragic circumstances. Michael was a much loved, remarkable young boy with a big heart and loving nature."

"He will be greatly missed by everyone who had the honour to know him. We wish to thank everyone who attended the scene to help Michael. We would also like to thank the medical staff at the hospital and all those who have helped the police at this time."

"We urge anyone who has any information to contact police as soon as they can in order to assist the investigation.

"We ask now that we are given the time and privacy to grieve for Michael."

DCI Paul Moxley is leading the investigation into Michael's death. He said

"A thorough murder investigation into Michael's death is ongoing and our priority is to ensure those responsible are brought to justice. "

"We are asking the local community to think back to the evening of Monday 1 August, particularly between 9pm and 10pm, and ask them to contact police if they saw or heard anything suspicious.

"We are also appealing for anyone who may have seen three young men wearing hooded jumpers and tracksuit bottoms near the Royal Shrewsbury Hospital at approximately 11pm on Monday evening to come forward."

"The three young men are thought to be white and in their late teens to early twenties, anyone who saw them or came into contact with them is encouraged to call 101."

"Michael was a young man and his passing is very difficult for his family to come to terms with, we are continuing to work with them and will ensure they are fully supported during this incredibly difficult time."

Three individuals have been arrested in relation to this incident and have been released on bail.
