Liverpool stands with all victims of sexual abuse
A special vigil's being held later beneath the Radio City Tower
As Liverpool takes a stand against all forms of sexual violence - we're hearing too many victims are still too afraid to come forward.
Survivors will come together with Universities, charities and the police later for a special vigil beneath the Radio City Tower.
It's part of a week of action across the North West - with people being invited to a sign a pledge to stamp out sexual abuse.
Helen Leach is from RASA Merseyside - they're expecting more than 2700 new referrals for people needing support before the end of the year :
"Many people live in silence for years if not all their lives so the statistics ar eprobably a lot higher so we want to give people the confidence to come forward to ask for help so they don't have to go the rest of their lives struggling with the impact of the abuse alone.
"It's really important that we're raising awareness as a city to reduce the shame and the stigma that goes along with sexual violence and abuse and by talking about it we reduce the stigma and we let survivors know that it's not your fault and that we are here to listen to you".
