A reconstruction of an horrific rape in Liverpool earlier this year will feature on tonight's edition of Crimewatch as police continue to appeal for information.

Detectives from the specialist Unity team have released further CCTV images of a man they would like to speak to following the attack on Beaumont Street, Toxteth, on Sunday, 19 July 2015. Detectives believe that the man, featured in the stills, could have vital information which could help them with their investigation. They are appealing to him, or anyone who may know him, to come forward. The incident happened in Beaumont Street close to the junction with Dove Street just before 6.30am. The 21-year-old victim was walking along Beaumont Street on her way to her partner's house when she was approached by a man she didn't know, who started talking to her. After a brief conversation the man pushed her to the ground and raped her before leaving the scene in an unknown direction. Detective Sergeant Paul Donaghy from the force's specialist Unity team said: "We believe that the man in the CCTV footage, who was wearing a distinctive sweatshirt with the Marvel logo on the front, may have information which could help us with our investigation and we would urge him, or anyone who recognises him to come forward and contact the Unity team on 0151 777 1382, or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111."

The programme will be aired on BBC1 at 9pm. Detective Inspector Terry Davies will be making an appeal for information live on the programme tonight.
