Donations are coming in thick and fast as Liverpool rallies round to help the millions of Ukrainians who've lost everything cos of the Russian invasion.

Polskie Merseyside on County Road are a charity that usually helps Polish people settle here but this week they are calling out for clothes and toiletries to take to the Ukrainian border this weekend.

So far, they have received tonnes of donations ahead of their trip across Europe but are desperate for more items, such as toothbrushes, toothpaste, sanitary products, shower gel, clothes and blankets.

Katie is one of the volunteers :

"Toys, stuff to wash, hats and scarves, stuff to keep the family entertained, whatever you need if you lost everything really.

"I just woke up this morning and thought I can't control what's going on but what can I do? I'd like to think if it was my family and friends that there would be other people out there doing their bit as well.

"It's great but it doesn't surprise me with Liverpool, it's what we do, the door hasn't stopped and people are coming in saying what do you need before I go the shops? What do you need?"

If you want to drop off donations then you can head to the Polskie Merseyside offices on County Road between 8am-830pm or head over to https://www.facebook.com/Polskie.Merseyside for more information.
