Liverpool 8yr old turns tragedy into charity

A young boy from Liverpool has told Radio City how he's making it his mission to help other people after the death of his dad

8 year old Alfie from Wavertree wrote a heartbreaking letter to Everton after a tough year

"I'm writing to you because I know how good you are at helping others"

He said: "I just think the world need to become a bit better, and it's not right the way it is. That's why I'm working with Everton help improve it all"

Alfie's now planning a fundraiser to help his football team called Mags Inter which are encouraged by Bellfield

In it he says: "Because of this I want to do stuff for the less fortunate, except I can't think of anything."

Alfie said he wanted to turn his experiences into something positive - and this week was invited to Finch Farm to talk about ideas

After writing to the Blues, they responded and invited the inspiration young man to Finch Farm to discuss ideas and how he can help.

Alfie's mum Alison said: “It’s like a new family to him, and we can't praise them enough for what they've done. We're looking to help them as well as the local community because what they've done has been amazing for Alfie"
