LISTEN: Ed Sheeran reveals what he was up to during his break
He also revealed he had forgotten he'd written a popular song!
It's not every day that you get to chat to a superstar like Ed Sheeran, but Alex James, a presenter on our sister station Radio City did just that earlier this week.
Alex caught up with the 'Shape of You' singer to talk about his break from music, travelling the world and his new songs.
Talking to Alex Ed explained how he had a chance to really see the world last year while he took a break from touring. Although he has travelled the world extensively most of the time he wouldn't see more than a hotel room and the venue, so he and a "special friend" travelled incognito last year.
Listen to the full interivew below where Ed also reveals how it was cheaper to employ a 'live in chef' than get takeaways for all the musicians who were living with him at one point.
Ed released two comeback singles last Friday which immediately went straight to number one and two in The Big Top 40.
Ed also spoke to Natalie from the Greatest Hits Radio Ents Team and he told us more about THAT scar that appeared in November last year.
The incident happened at a Windsor Royal Lodge party held by Princess Beatrice where she grabbed a ceremonial sword to conduct a mock knighthood ceremony for James Blunt. Misjudging the weight of the sword she unfortunately caught Ed's cheek.
He explained how he didn't think there was anything wrong until he looked down and saw his whole shirt covered in blood! Everyone around him said he had to get stitches, but he was like "why"?
