Kirkby sisters jailed for their involvement in drugs conspiracy
The case was part of Operation Aquarium
Merseyside Police have welcomed the sentencing of two women for their involvement in a Class A drugs conspiracy.
The case came as part of Operation Aquarium, which is the Merseyside response to the Operation Venetic Investigation into Encrochat drugs conspiracies.
Amy McGlone, 38, of Kennelwood Avenue, Kirkby, and her sister Claire McGlone, 35, of Mintor Road, Kirkby, who both used the encrochat handle ‘MOODYALPHA’, both pleaded guilty to conspiracy to supply Class A (cocaine and heroin) and conspiracy to supply Class B drugs (cannabis).
Amy McGlone was jailed for four years and six months and Claire McGlone was jailed for four years and nine months when they appeared at Liverpool Crown Court today.
Detective Inspector Pete McCullough said: “The two women are now behind bars as just the latest to be dealt with as part of our ongoing encrochat investigations.
“We will continue to target the people involved in this type of criminality and would urge the public to come forward and give us the information to bring these criminals to justice.”
