Our investigation has found zombie knives and machetes can still be easily bought online in the UK, despite new laws banning the potentially lethal weapons.

A simple Google search will take people to websites selling zombie knives, where they can be purchased no questions asked.

The Government introduced a ban on the blades in September, following a month-long knife amnesty, allowing people to hand them into police stations.

Laura Hughes from Formby, who lost her brother in a knife attack, said the ban was not enough, telling Greatest Hits Radio: "That should not be happening."

"It's upsetting to the core that it is still so easy to get the."

The startling discovery came as Merseyside Police arrested two teenagers on suspicion of selling weapons, including zombie knives, over the internet.

The 16-year-olds from Stourport-on-Severn in Worcestershire were taken into custody following a raid on an address in Worcestershire, as part of an operation to tackle knife crime.

Several weapons were seized including extendable batons, machetes, swords, flick knives and a knuckle duster.

Detective Seargeant Kieran Connolly from the County Lines Investigation team said: “These latest arrests show that we are resolute in removing weapons from the streets.

“The warrant was part of a national operation led by Merseyside Police to tackle the online sale of drugs, knives and weapons on Social Media across the country.

“We continue to seek out those involved in knife crime, either selling weapons or enticing young and vulnerable people to carry them."
