Hillsborough families have told Radio City News they'll continue to fight against introducing standing areas in football grounds - after Celtic opened a new safe standing section this week.

Margaret Spinal has been speaking after Celtic became the first club in the UK to open their new section during matches.

The 2'900 capacity area of Celtic Park was opened to fans for their game against Wolfsburg on Saturday, Brendan Rodger's first home game in charge.

The Scottish Champions were granted a safe standing licence in June last year by Glasgow City Council.

Currently all English clubs in the top two divisions are banned from having standing areas of their grounds, which was made in 1994, following the Hillsborough disaster in April 1989.

96 men, women & children were killed in Britain's worst sporting disaster at Sheffield Wednesday's ground - a inquest jury earlier this year found that the 96 were unlawfully killed & Liverpool fans were not to blame for the tragedy.

Since the ban, a campaign has been calling for the introduction of safe standing areas - similar to ones which are popular in grounds across the continent, particularly Germany and the Netherlands.

The Football Supporters Federation said on their Website: "Dozens of clubs support the Safe Standing Campaign and the Football League backed safe standing in February 2014. Support from the political world is growing too - the Welsh Assembly gave their support in July 2014 and we will look to build on that"

But Margaret Aspinall, Chair of the Hillsborough Families Support Group says it's taking a step backwards.

She said: "If more & more get put in, what happens? You'll go back to the 1980s yet again." "I don't understand why people want to take ten step backwards, when we've move so much forward. Indirectly we don't know if we have saved lives or not, but that's the point. You don't hear about crushes. Why? Because it's all seater stadia."
