After millions watched the final episode of Anne and her tireless fight for justice, families of the 97 Hillsborough victims say they hope the series teaches a new generation about the injustice they've faced in the years since the disaster.

Last night viewers saw an independent panel deliver its report showing fans weren't to blame as well as the obstacles the families had to overcome in their fight to uncover the truth.

Steve Kelly lost his brother Michael in the crush on the Leppings Lane, He says Anne's family deserve enormous credit for allowing her story to be told :

"Watching Anne and Stephen driving over to Sheffield and when they arrived at the Leppings Lane and seeing the fear on their faces, that's what we all felt. I think that came across powerfully.

"I know myself from trying to speak publicly or letting people into your life to see your heartache it takes an awful lot and they all need commending for giving us this drama, so thank you to the Williams family and thank you to Anne.

"The acting was fantastic and the writing was excpetional but you'll never get it right about how you actually felt that day when you went over to find your loved one; it's just something you were never prepared for. I just hope that people never have to go through it again because it was just horrendous".

'Anne' is available to watch now on the ITV hub.
