Guns, a cannabis farm and cash have been found, and three people have been arrested in Kirkdale

Merseyside Police has arrested five people, discovered a cannabis farm and recovered a shotgun and cash following drug warrants executed in Kirkdale last night (Thursday 14 July). The activity is part of an ongoing investigation in relation to the suspected manufacture, storage and supply of Class A and B drugs in and around the Stanley Road area, and premises targeted included a newsagents on the corner of Stanley Road and Briar Street, and houses to the rear on Wulstan Street. A 40 year-old man from the Everton area; a 51 year-old man from the Bootle area; a 26 year-old man from the Kirkdale area; a 35 year-old man from the Aigburth area and a 29 year-old man from the Everton area have all been arrested on suspicion of being concerned in the supply of controlled drugs. A cannabis farm with over 200 plants was also recovered together with a shotgun, ammunition and a quantity of cash. Those arrested have been taken into custody to be questioned by detectives. Chief Inspector Diane Pownall, for the Stanley Road area, said: "I would like to thank our local residents for their patience and support while we carry out this activity. "Days like this are a continuous response against people we suspect are involved in organised crime, and information from the community is vital in taking action against those causing problems in the area. I would encourage anyone with concerns to speak to us, and we can continue to take robust action."
