Further arrest after teenage girl shot in Toxteth

A teenager is the fourth person to be arrested in connection with a shooting on Upper Warwick Street, Toxteth on Tuesday (1 March).

Earlier this week, detectives said it is a "miracle" a 15-year-old girl survived being shot as she waited to catch a bus on her way home from school.

She was rushed to hospital after suffering a gunshot wound to her upper body, police have since confirmed she is in a stable condition.

Merseyside Police have released an update this morning (Friday 4 March), saying they've arrested an 18-year-old man from Toxteth on suspicion of attempted murder and possession of a firearm with intent to endanger life.

A 27-year-old man from Toxteth who was arrested yesterday on suspicion of attempted murder and possession of a firearm without a certificate has now been released under investigation.

The 21-year-old man from Toxteth who was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and possession of a firearm with intent to endanger life has also been released under investigation.

It had previously been confirmed that a 60-year-old man from Toxteth who had been arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender was also released under investigation.

Officers are urging anyone who has information, witnessed the incident, or who may have dashcam footage to come forward as their information could greatly assist the investigation.
