Funraising page launched for boy seriously injured in Southport zorb accident
The 9 year old had to be airlifted to hospital with multiple injuries, after the incident earlier this month
A fundraising page has been set up to raise money for a young boy who was seriously injured in a freak zorb accident in Southport.
The 9 year old was in the giant inflatable at the Southport Food & Drink Festival on 5 June, when a gust of wind lifted it into the air, sending it crashing down on a patch of grass nearby.
The boy, who hasn't been named but goes to the Holy Family Catholic primary school, was airlifted to Alder Hey with multiple injuries.
The school is now looking to raise £1000 to aid his recovery.
They have also revealed that he has had to have multiple operations for his injuries.
On the Just Giving page, they said: "The little boy who was involved in the zorbing accident last month goes to our school. He's been in Alder Hey hospital and had multiple operations. We want to help support the family while he recovers in as many practical ways as possible."
