Former Merseyside Olympian Enters the Ring in Search for Wirral's Missing Lotto Winner
A £100,000 Lotto prize remains unclaimed in Wirral and the winner has just over one week left to claim the sum of money
Merseyside's Natasha Jones, Britain's first female Olympic boxer, has today entered the ring at the Birkenhead Venture Boxing Club in the search for a missing Lotto Millionaire Raffle winner who bought their ticket in Wirral.
A £100,000 Lotto prize remains unclaimed and the winner has just over one week to claim the money.
The missing Lotto ticket is from the unique Team GB-inspired Lotto Medal Draw on 27 August 2016, which was held to thank National Lottery players for the support given to Team GB through playing the lottery.
The National Lottery has invested over £5 billion in grassroots sport to date, with Birkenhead Venture Boxing Club just one of those to have benefitted. The club, which trains both amateur and professional boxers, many of whom have gone on to represent GB, received £85,000 in National Lottery funding to allow it to extend and improve its current gym.
Natasha, 32, from Liverpool, was the first female boxer to compete at the Olympic Games in 2012. Now retired from Boxing, she said: "The funding which The National Lottery provides for Olympic athletes is amazing and many of our sportsmen and women would not be able to fulfill their Olympic dreams without the funding channel.
"It is also great to see the National Lottery funding which is being put into facilities such as The Venture, which does so much great work for the local community and is a vital a lifeline for so many young people - but relies entirely on charitable donations."
The unclaimed ticket is due to expire on 23 February 2017 and the winning Lotto Millionaire Raffle code is GREY 5696 6430.
