Forensics called to Aintree ASDA after overnight break-in

Bosses at ASDA tell us a police incident overnight at their Aintree store meant there was a delay to the store opening this morning.
Police say the Ormskirk Road shop was broken in to in the early hours (April 1st) by three offenders, but it's not been confirmed if anything was taken.
They have since launched an appeal for information.
We're told the break-in was reported at just before 1am, when three offenders forced entry into the Ormskirk Road store at around 12.30am, damaging shutters and glass.
The three offenders were described as wearing balaclavas and dark clothing, and are reported to have made off on e-bikes.
Detective Inspector Paula Jones said: “To target any place where people live or work in our community is disgraceful and our officers are determined to find the three males responsible.
“We are conducting a forensic examination of the scene and studying CCTV in the area. If you were in the vicinity of Asda in Aintree at around 12.30-1am on Monday, or were driving nearby hand have dashcam, please get in touch.”
A spokesperson from ASDA told us: “There was an incident at our Aintree store overnight which meant there was a delay to the store opening this morning.
"This has since been resolved and the store is back open as usual. We would like to thank our customers for their patience and apologise for any inconvenience caused.”
