Fire at St Helens paintball centre being treated as suspected arson
Police investigation is underway
Police have confirmed they are treating a fire which broke out at an old paintball centre in St Helens as suspected arson
Emergency services were called to the building on Borough Road around 5pm on Tuesday evening following reports of a large building fire
At it's height, the smoke could be seen for miles, and it lead to Pilkington's Glass being evactuated
There were feared that two people were inside, but firefighters confirmed that wasn't the case
Now a criminal investigation into the blaze is underway
A police spokesperson confirmed that house to house enquries are underway
Detectives are also appealing for anyone who was in the vicinity of the building who may have seen anyone acting suspiciously to get in touch.
Officers are particularly keen to speak to two boys, aged around 14, who witnesses saw in the area around the time of the fire.
