Fire crews battle blaze on Annan High Street

Firefighters have spent the night battling a blaze in Annan.

Emergency services were called to Zana's Babers on the town's High Street around 6.30pm last night, where two properties and one premises were evacuated.

There are no reports of any casualties.

A Scottish Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson told us:

"We received a call to High Street in Annan at 6.32pm last night with reports of a building fire.

We initially mobilised four appliances to the scene and are still in attendance."

Police Scotland have confirmed people have now been allowed back into the premises and enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances of the blaze, though it is not believed to have been deliberate.
