The finishing touches are being made to the race course at Aintree ahead of next weekend's Grand National Festival.

It takes three weeks to get the 16 fences prepared using 58 tonnes of fir and 8 thousand branches brought in from the Lake District.

Andrew Tulloch is the man in charge of it all; he's hoping to have the weather on his side over the next few days.

He told us;

‘We had a really wet winter, not particularly cold but we’re just a bit behind. ..What we really need now is a bit of sunshine. Temperatures in the mid-teens would be great and a bit of rain as well. Going is what we call what the horses run on and we want it to be safe ground’
