Family of missing dad appeal for help to find him
Dad-of-four Carl Williams was last seen in the early hours of 29 December
The family of a dad-of-four who went missing a week ago are appealing for help to find him.
48-year-old Carl Williams was last seen leaving home on Queens Road in Everton at around 2:30am on Friday 29 December.
He is about to become a granddad - with his daughter, Leah, expecting a baby boy any day now.
Sasha Williams, Carl's other daughter, said:
"She's having a little boy, she's ready to drop to be honest!
"That's (why) it's so shocking to us because he was supposed to be there while she gives birth so right now, it's why has he done it because he was very excited to be a granddad, it's his first grandchild, her first baby.
"We wasn't expecting it. We're all devastated of course, but she wants him there and holding out I think in the hope he'll turn up.
"Its not been the best week. Everyone in the family has been looking for him, we're out constantly searching. If we're not, we're getting in touch with the police for updates. We're doing everything we can.
"The last time I saw him in person was the 23rd (December) and I spoke to him on Christmas Day via video-call and he seemed absolutely fine. The stress of Christmas gets to everyone but he seemed absolutely fine in himself - he was just happy.
"We went from celebrating Christmas to not knowing where to go, what to do, why he'd done it - we've got no answers, he's got them really.
It's totally out of character
"It's totally out of character for him (to go missing). He's never ever done this before, he's never been the type of person to just walk out.
"We can all get a bit stressed and a bit moody sometimes, but it's so out of character. That's why it's so shocking to us, because what's made him do it?
"We miss him, we want him to come home - every single one of us.
"You just miss the little things - even the ten-minute phone calls or hearing his voice or the text messages you get - it's been really hard not to have any type of contact.
Come home, we all love you
"We just miss him - come home, we all love you no matter what."
Carl is described as 5ft5in tall, of slim build, with grey balding hair and a short grey beard.
He is known to frequent the Liverpool and Sefton areas.
Detective Inspector Alan Nuttall said:
"We are becoming increasingly concerned for Carl. This type of behaviour is totally out of character.
"Despite repeated appeals and a number of lines of enquiry we have not been able to locate Carl and his family are very worried.
"I would ask anyone who has seen Carl or recognises his photograph or description to contact us as a matter of urgency.
"I would also ask Carl, if he is reading this appeal, to get in touch with ourselves, or a friend, to let us know he is safe."
Anyone who has seen Carl is asked to DM @MerPolCC or call 101.
The force wants any sightings of Carl to be reported here.
