Everton secure Premier League survival
It came down to a dramatic final day
Everton have secured Premier League survival on a dramatic final day of the Premier League season.
A second-half goal from midfielder Abdoulaye Doucoure secured a crucial 1-0 victory over AFC Bournemouth - and it was needed.
That's because Leicester City beat West Ham 2-1. If Everton didn't win, it would have meant relegation.
Leeds United were also in the mix to survive - but a 4-1 defeat to Tottenham ended their slim hopes of escaping the bottom three.
Speaking to Sky Sports News, manager Sean Dyche said:
"I took over what they called a broken club. It's not broken - there's cracks but it's not broken.
"We've shown that, we've shown the fighting spirit that you need, but equally I've just told the players you shouldn't be in this state.
"We've got to learn from that. Next season is going to be a big season.
