Everton Closer To Takeover After Talks With American Group
Everton are reportedly one step closer to a potential takeover by American investors.
The club have been in talks with a consortium led by the former owner of the San Diego Padres baseball team, John Jay Moores and his associate Charles Noell.
They both have a background in technology and were previously interested in investing in Swansea.
It's throught he's been going over the club's financies for the past six weeks and are now at a stage where a deal in principle is close to being finalised to buy the majority shareholding in the club.
Everton have declined to comment.
In the club's general meeting in November, Chief Executive Robert Elstone said: "There has never been more people interested in investing in Everton and the chairman is confident that investment will be secured in the near future"
