Business leaders believe hosting Eurovision could generate millions of pounds
Business Leaders in Liverpool say hosting an international event like Eurovision would have a tremendous impact on the local economy.
It's seven days since we found out our city had made the shortlist of hopefuls to showcase next year's event.
It's after it was deemed this year's winners Ukraine, wouldn't be able to hold the show, due to the ongoing risk from the Russian invasion.
Bill Addy is Chief Exec at the Liverpool Business Improvement District, he says putting on the show could generate millions :
"It would be a boost, the longterm inpact becuase of the increased visibility is what it's about. After a Winter that we are headin ginto we will need some brightness.
"Give us Eurovision, we're the only city that can deliver for them.
"It is so important to have these iconic events an dplans for the city. It's important that we have the vision to look forward to deliever an important event on an iconic stage".
