A North West MEP in Brussels says the EU Parliament buildings are 'in lockdown' after a series of explosions in the Belgium capital.

A North West MEP in Brussels says the EU Parliament buildings are 'in lock down' after a series of explosions in the Belgium capital.

It's feared over 20 people are feared dead after a number of explosions at the city's airport and three metro stations.

Transport services in the city have grounded to a halt. Flights to and from Brussels' including connect ions with Manchester have been cancelled.

David Cameron says he is chairing an emergency COBRA meeting in response to the events.
