Drug dealer who supplied cocaine and heroin in St Helens is jailed
Jordan Bassey-Smith from Liverpool was jailed for 5 years
A Toxteth man who supplied crack cocaine and heroin in St Helens has been jailed.
Jordan Bassey-Smith, 27, was sentenced to five years in prison at Liverpool Crown Court earlier this month.
Bassey-Smith, of Wordsworth Street, Toxteth, was arrested by Merseyside Police in July as part of Project Medusa, the force’s response to tackling County Lines offending.
He was later charged with being concerned in the supply of heroin and concerned in the supply of crack cocaine.
On August 24 Bassey-Smith pleaded guilty to the offences at court.
Det Sgt Gerard Farley, of Merseyside Police, said: “Class A drug supply has a huge impact on the community and Bassey-Smith’s imprisonment shows we will target these offenders and bring them to justice.
“County Lines criminality involves the transport of illegal drugs from one area to another, often across police and local authority boundaries, usually by children or vulnerable people who are coerced into it by gangs. The offending targets the most vulnerable in our society.
“We rely on information from the community and I would urge anyone who has information about criminality of this type to contact us.”
