Donor Drive To Help Find Match For 9 Year Old Boy

Published 4th Feb 2016

A donor drive has been held in Liverpool to help find a bone marrow donor for a 9 year old boy - in the hope that it could save his life.

Kieron Fairclough from Bootle suffers from a rare disease called BDA which means his bone marrow doesn't produce enough blood cells.

He needs somebody with the right tissue type to find a match. An event has been taking place at Hugh Baird Colleage in Bootle today to get people signed up to the resigter.

Kieron's mum Ashley said: "It just would end the worrying, Kieron keeps asking if he's got a match and I keep on saying no, and it would mean the absolute world to us if we found one"
