Police are appealing for information to help find Adam Fletcher who is wanted in connection with the fatal stabbing of Paul Stenson in West Derby on Sunday 19th December.

At around 6.30am emergency services were called to Princess Drive after reports a man had received a stab wound to his chest.

North West Ambulance Service attended and the man was taken to hospital where he sadly died.

The investigation into Pauls death remains ongoing, and two women aged 20, have been arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender and have since been bailed pending further enquiries.

Detectives now want to speak with 28-year-old Adam Fletcher who they suspect has information which they believe could be vital to their investigation.

Fletcher is described as a white male, 5ft, 7in tall with short brown hair and grey eyes.

He is known to live and frequent the North Liverpool area.

Detective Chief Inspector Lee Wilkinson said:

“I am appealing to anyone who has information regarding this investigation to come forward, particularly anyone who has not yet spoken to police who was in attendance at a house party on Princess Drive in the early hours of Sunday morning where the fatal incident took place.

“Furthermore we believe Fletcher could hold vital information to our continuing enquiries and are appealing to the public to assist us in locating him.

“This was a callous, targeted attack that has left Paul’s family with a devastating loss just before Christmas.

“We are determined to find the person responsible and bring them to justice.

“Please contact police as a matter of urgency with any information that may assist our investigations and help bring justice for a devastated family.”

"Paul was a hard-working and loving father. He leaves behind his son, daughter, mother and wife of more than 15 years who were together since school and practically inseparable.

"As a Tree Surgeon our Paul loved the outdoors and was well known in the community as Paul Mac. Wherever he went someone would recognise and chat with Paul.

"His loss will leave our family devastated this Christmas and in the years to come."

Pauls’ family have asked for privacy while they grieve for their loss.
