Police investigating a suspected terrorist blast in Liverpool yesterday, have carried out a controlled explosion in the city.

It was described as "a precaution" and took place at Sefton Park - that's one of two locations where police have been searching addresses.

Police say there is believed to be no wider risk to the public.

Earlier officers said they'd found "significant items" in a property nearby the park, during their raids.

A cordon is in place there and eight families have been evacuated as a result.
