Liverpool's iconic Christmas Tractor Convoy is set to return on Sunday with dozens of farmers taking to the roads to spread some Christmas cheer.

This will be the fourth year that the Tractor Convoy will be taking place, with drivers starting their engines at 5:30pm on Sunday night (December 10th).

The convoy is set to follow a new route for this year, as tractor drivers decorate their equipment with festive lights and sparkles, all in aid for a good cause.

The charity event is to help raise vital funds for the Alder Hey Children's Charity, which helps poorly children recover from serious illnesses.

Residents in Liverpool have been quick to get behind the scheme, with £75,000 being donated over the past four years.

The event is organised by local resident Olly Harrison, who was inspired to create the convoy after seeing a similar initiative run on the Isle of Man.

This year, the convoy is set to take off at 5:30pm from Tarbock, before turning onto Whitefield Lane. The procession will run through Tarbock Road and Roby Road before it moves to Court Hey to arrive at its primary destination - Alder Hey Children's Hospital at around 6:15pm.

After this, the tractors will carry on through Queen's Drive before heading into Calderstones and Allerton, stopping at the designated quiet zone of Springwood Avenue.

Following the quiet stop, the tractors will ramp up the energy once again as it loops around through Halewood before returning to Tarbock at the end of the route, with the parade expected to finish at around 8pm.

Speaking to the Liverpool ECHO, Harrison said that he hopes that the amount donated to the charity will continue to grow.

Olly added that thanks to generous strangers, he is hoping that the event will help to raise the total goal of £250,000 for the charity.

Anyone who wishes to donate towards the convoy can do so here.
