Detectives have issued an image of a man they believe may have information that could assist with their enquiries after a woman was sexually assaulted in Liverpool.

At around 2.40am on Saturday 29 October officers were called to a report of a sexual assault at McDonalds on Lord Street.

A man approached a woman who was standing at the front door of the premises and tried to speak with her before sexually assaulting her.

No one was injured but the woman was left seriously distressed by the incident and is being supported by officers as our investigation continues.

Since the assault officers have carried out extensive forensic, CCTV and witness enquiries and detectives have issued a CCTV image of a man they believe could assist with their investigation.

Detective Inspector Chris Saidi said:

“This was a frightening incident for the woman involved and I would like to commend her bravery in coming forward.

“While several months have passed since the incident, we are still working hard to find the person responsible and bring them to justice therefore any information you hold could be vital to our enquiries. If you recognise the man pictured then please let us know, as we believe he may hold information that is crucial to our ongoing investigation.

“We would also appeal to anyone who was at or near McDonalds on Lord Street on Saturday 29 October in the early hours of the morning who saw anyone or anything suspicious to contact us as they may have information which is vital to our investigation.”
